Using Denials in prayer
A denial may be used, when there is an undertone of doubt, uncertainty or even fear, that what you are affirming isn't a possibility. If you are remotely human (ha!) you will experience doubt in the prayer process. The denial is incorporated as a "turn around" or refocusing of attention. Let's use the Abundance Prayer as an example from page 35 of the printed book. As you are reading or speaking the prayer you get to the portion that states..."I declare that I received all that I need, when I need it. There is a sufficiency and sustainability to the spirit that I embrace now. All of my needs are met, whether I know the path to fulfillment, I declare and trust that the universe has by back!"
And right there in the midst of the prayer a voice in the back of your mind says "Yeah right, when has the universe ever had my back! All I do is struggle to get my needs met."
It is right then and there that you would continue your prayer and incorporate a denial. A denial is not an argument to convince how something will happen, rather it is denying the power of doubt, uncertainty or fear and reaffirming what you are placing your faith in. Here is short powerful denial that could be used in this abundance prayer.
"And I deny the power of doubt in my mind, thought it may be present and strong, what I know is stronger is my faith, what I know is stronger is the creative power of the universe! I deny the power of fear and embrace the power of principle! The more I turn my attention towards that which I desire, it shall come to pass."
And then you continue on with the rest of the prayer.

From This Thing Called You by Ernest Holmes, "You, like all others, are seeking the joy of living. You wish to be needed, to be loved, to be included in the great drama of life. This urge is in every individual. It is in everything. The rose exists to express beauty. Root and branch conspire with nature to give birth to blossom. An artist will starve in [their] garret that [they] may chisel an angelic form from a slab of marble, compelling the unyielding substance to accept [their] breath of creation. Not only human beings, but everything in nature is endowed with this creative urge. When moisture is precipitated the desert receives it with gladness and breaks forth in to a song of creation. Making the most of its brief season, it blossoms in joy, storing within its bosom the seed of a future flowering. It is impossible to escape this creative urge."
From The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, "Each of us has an inner dream tat we can unfold if we will just have the courage to admit what it is. And the faith to trust our own admission. The admitting is often difficult. A clearing affirmation can often open the channel. One excellent one is 'I know the things I know.' Another is 'I trust my own inner guide.' Either of these will eventually yield us a sense of our own direction..."
